Our members come in all shapes, sizes, ages and nationalities. They all share the same desire to have an instantly available team of physicians dedicated to them and their healthcare needs.
The scope and utilization of WorldClinic services varies from member to member. Some contact us only when they (or a family member) are experiencing an emergent health issue. Others call us for more everyday health-related questions or concerns.
WorldClinic is not an insurance or travel assistance company. We are a medical practice dedicated to delivering real medical care regardless of time or location. As such, WorldClinic's service offerings are truly unique.
Here is what some of our members have said about us:

"While in China on a business trip, I awoke at 2 AM with severe chest pain and I was in no condition to help myself.
I called WorldClinic from my hotel room. The doctors quickly figured out that I was having a heart attack. In less than five minutes, they had my co-worker in my room and were instructing him to give me a nitroglycerin under my tongue, an aspirin and a drug to slow my heart rate.
At the same time, their staff directed the local EMS to bring me to the only hospital in Beijing with a 24-hour cardiac catheterization lab. They faxed a copy of my EKG to the ER and spoke with one of the on-duty doctors through a Mandarin translator. Two and half hours later, I was in the recovery room, alive and very much aware of what WorldClinic had done for me."

"Last year, I was planning a family vacation to Argentina. My father has a pretty serious heart condition though and we were concerned about what would happen if he should have a heart attack. The doctors at WorldClinic helped us locate an American trained cardiologist in Buenos Aires and put together a folder for us on my Dad's health history. They also called the cardiologist in person and made sure we had his cell phone number for any emergencies. As it turned out, things went well and we had a great time, but it was reassuring to know that we had a plan and someone to go to if something happened."

"Three years ago, we were on a ski vacation in New Mexico when my wife took a fall. Neither of us thought it was serious, but an hour later she started having blurry vision in her right eye.
From the lodge restaurant, we called WorldClinic and our doctor there took us through a guided exam of her visual fields, concluding that she was having the first signs of a detached retina.
He was right and an hour later she was undergoing a laser repair with the only ophthalmologist in the area who could do it (which WorldClinic found and called for us). I often think of what would have happened if we had not called right when we did..."

"We live in the Boston area. When our eight year-old suddenly developed a fever and earache last winter, our HMO advised us to take her to the local emergency room where there was a five-hour wait. My husband called WorldClinic and spoke with our physician who advised us to treat her at home using two of the medications in our medical kit. Within 24 hours, she was feeling better and a recheck the next day with our pediatrician confirmed the diagnosis of an ear infection."

"Seven days after my husband's gallbladder surgery, he started complaining of mild shortness of breath. I called his doctor's answering service and after an hour and a half, I still had not heard from anyone. My husband called WorldClinic and we were instructed to go immediately to the emergency room. While we were driving to the ER, the WorldClinic doctor spoke with the ER physician and sent over a copy of his medical records. My husband was immediately admitted to the ICU for life-threatening blood clots. He got through it all and is now as active as ever."

"I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2003. I had my own advisors search the Internet for as much information as they could find on my treatment options. It was very hard to sort out what information was real medicine versus what was a marketing gimmick. In the end, my wife and I flew up to Boston and met with our WorldClinic physician, Dr. Dan Carlin. We went through all the information I had collected. In the end though, it just all boiled down to finding the one urologist that all the other urologists agreed was the best. That one urologist did my surgery laparoscopically. I was out of the hospital in 3 days, made a good recovery, and the tissue tests showed that they had gotten all of the cancer. I think of the time and caring given to my wife and me by WorldClinic and Dr. Carlin's team. They made a hard decision easier and the results speak for themselves. Let me say that WorldClinic now also covers our entire family and the crew of our boat."
